Just to say a very big thank you for the most amazing weeks fishing. It simply exceeded all our expectations, the house, lake and the grounds were just perfect in every way. We had 26 fish in total, the lake record out twice once in the day and once in the middle of the night at just under 75lbs. We also had seven 50s & various 40s just an incredible weeks fishing, I can honestly say the fishery is the best water either of us have ever fished. We would obviously like to book again for around the same time next year but this time is it possible for two weeks, you may think that’s a bit mad – two weeks fishing day and night but we really did not want to leave. Please could you let me know the availability for October 2019 when you get a moment so we can get booked in again. PM

Which is unreal…I have fished a lot of lakes in France and have to say that Chanteboeuf stands out by a country mile. Massive credit to you Graham and your team, Sophie & Alex and everyone else involved at Chanteboeuf. We would love to come back again next year for two weeks if possible. “Before booking, I had heard Lake Chanteboeuf described as an anglers’ paradise. A big reputation even by the standards of French carp waters. Within hours of settling into the lakeside lodge I had a 42lb common carp in the net in front of me and a look of disbelief on my face! From that point on I could vouch for every adjective used for this place. A week where I would be the only one fishing, with the opportunity to follow the fish as they moved, sunning themselves and showing frequently during the day. I broke my PB 4 times in total during the first three days, landing a 52lb carp on the third. I spent only 4 hours every morning and evening fishing the lake and landed 16 fish in total, made up of four 30s, eleven 40s, the majority 45+, and that now personal best 50+ pound fish. Simple feeding tactics and effective rigs paid off and the fish fought every pound they weighed in at, each and everyone in perfect condition.
The lodge had everything we could have asked for with a hefty barbecue, two double beds and a flatscreen tv. The majority of the time was spent on the veranda enjoying the scenic grounds around the lake and the local wines. We visited the town of St Junien, a stones throw away from the lake with plenty of supermarkets and restaurants, a beautiful place to visit when we did eventually drag ourselves away from the venue. It really is a piece of paradise and somewhere that I hope to visit for many years with my friends and family, in great hands with excellent hosts and looking forward to the 2019 season.” TH
“Lester, Had a great wk really appreciate you honoring our booking. So far we have have 24 fish with loads of 40,s And a 52lb each. I even had a 46lb common which was a surprise. Regarding bookings can I reserve April next year same wk. Also was looking at a holiday with my wife in September is anything available”. Final tally = 27 fish : 2 x 52lbs and lots of 40s (47 46 45 52 rest mid 40,s).

“To catch fish like that in late December is unbelievable. The place is amazing! I’ve been to 20+ different venues across France and Chanteboeuf is best by a long way. Facilities are perfect. Great for the family. That’s why I’m booked up twice for 2019. We love the tranquility and atmosphere on Chanteboeuf but it is the quality of the fishing that is incredible. Having fished and filmed on lakes and venues all over France and the World, we have never known a lake to produce so many big 40’s and 50’s for its size, as well as having fish of 60 and a lake record at a needle width off 75lb!”
